[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Carbon offsets are a cost effective way to reduce your environmental impact through reputable and assured projects both domestically and worldwide. Carbon offsets can be used to negate those emissions that you cannot currently avoid, to reduce certain aspects of your carbon footprint and/or to support your claims of carbon neutrality (Learn more about going carbon neutral in the Charles Sturt University Case Study.)

In Australia, carbon offsets can be generated through sequestration projects such as tree planting and increasing soil carbon storage and through new projects that avoid emissions such as energy efficiency, methane destruction and avoiding deforestation. Internationally carbon offset projects also include renewable energy and energy efficiency and low emissions product roll outs in developing countries.

Balance Carbon can assist you in determining what carbon offsets will best suit your organisational goals, whether that be a single source project or a mix of projects based on a set of key principles. The types of offset products, their locations and categories that we trade in are summarised in the figure below.

Offset standards and programmes

Benefits of Carbon Offsets

A report by the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance reported the following additional benefits for companies who had purchased carbon offsets. The co-benefits of a carbon offset purchase extend beyond the project itself to your own staff, clients and supply chain.

Earning Reputable Offsets

Balance Carbon’s carbon transactional services operate under an Australian Financial Services Licence. Further, we only deal in carbon offsets registered through credible schemes with rigorous registration, reporting and assurance frameworks to give you confidence in your carbon offset purchase.

Vehicle Offsets Program

Balance Carbon also offers a vehicle emissions offset program. Individual vehicles through to full vehicle fleets can become a ‘Registered Vehicle’ participant. The program is underpinned by a licensing agreement as part of the registration process, which ensures where you see the ‘Registered Vehicle’ label, you can be confident that 100% of carbon emissions associated with that vehicle’s use are being offset and verified through Balance Carbon. We provide a number of certified offset packages, which can be tailored to your needs. They are applicable to cars, trains, buses, tractors, trams, trucks, boats and personal watercrafts.
